With sadness, we announce the passing of Mario Follador on May 10, 2020. Born in Borso del Grappa, Italy in 1936, Mario ventured to Canada in 1957, settling in Vancouver where he made his home for over 60 years. As the city grew through the decades, Mario worked as a hair dresser, married and raised two daughters, and lived life as an overall family man. An avid gardener, he was renowned for the bounties his garden produced. His pasta sauce and home-made wine were a staple of the Follador household. Having moved to Burnaby in 2006, Mario spent his retirement years toiling in his vegetable garden, socializing with his wine club, and being a loving Nonno to his grandson. Predeceased by his twin Marino in 2009, and his wife Pat in 2016, Mario is survived by his daughters Cristina and Marina, son-in-law Cory, and grandson Matthew. He is also survived by brother Angelo, and sisters Fanny, Gugliemina and Dolores, residing overseas. A gathering to remember Mario will be held when restrictions permit.
