With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mario Giuseppe Guidolin at the age of 95.
Born in San Zenone degli Ezzelini, Treviso, Italy, Mario immigrated to Canada in 1952 to cultivate a better life for his family, a goal he accomplished with tireless dedication. Mario is lovingly remembered by his wife Angela of 69 years; forever cherished by his children, Laura (Bepi d.1978), John (Aline) and Lisa; and adored by his grandchildren, Michael (Angela), Gabrielle (Kurt), Benjamin and Carl and great-grandchildren Jack, Phoebe and Maeve.
Family was everything to Mario, his face lit up whenever he saw his family, especially the grandchildren. He loved spending time outside in his garden – the only time you saw him sitting and relaxing was when the Canucks were playing. He was known for his amazing upholstery work – and lucky were the ones who had a piece of his creation.
Mario will always be remembered for his kindness and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Special thanks to the amazing Fraser Health palliative care team and care aides, who helped our mother care for him so that he could remain at home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday July 19th, 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canucks Place Children’s Hospice.
