Survived by her husband, David Kwong, she will be lovingly remembered by her children Brian (Millie), Leo (Christine), and her grandchildren Tiffany and Zachary.
Marion Kwong was born in Macau, China and moved to Hong Kong with her parents and 7 other siblings. Hong Kong was where she met the love of her life and got married in 1969. After starting their family in 1973 they decided to immigrate to Canada in 1976 to raise their family in peace and prosperity. She spent over 30 years working at Hotel Vancouver in their accounts payable department. During that time, she got to treat her family with many trips around the world and made lifelong friends.
Mom enjoyed traveling and especially cruising with her friends and family. Going for dim sum and connecting over family dinners with all her siblings and their families. Ballroom dancing with dad, singing Chinese opera, playing Mahjong till the wee hours of the night, going for daily walks and often picking up snacks and goodies for the grandchildren.
Mom loved her family and doted on her grandkids. Like a traditional mother, she expressed her love with acts of service often cooking yummy foods, making sure the home was clean and creating a safe space where we would bring our friends over for a warm meal or a cool drink. But mostly she showed love as a faithful wife often providing for her husband taking care of managing the family finances, cooking the family meals and ensuring a loving home.
She will be remembered as a quiet woman, small in stature but strong in spirit and resilient in character overcoming many of life’s adversities and never wanting to inconvenience anybody.
Everybody loved mom. Her goodness and her caring heart will live on.
