Mrs. Mary Mackay Lundie Boskovich

After a short struggle with cancer, Molly passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2011 surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by her children Michael (Natalie), Patricia (Mark), and Elizabeth (Stephen), grandsons Brodie and Riley, extended grandchildren Chanelle, Troy and Danae, numerous nieces and nephews, and her many friends.

Born on June 26, 1929 in Glasgow, Scotland, Molly immigrated to Canada in 1952 with her sister Betty and family. She and Kruno married in 1958 and settled in Oakridge to raise their family in their home on Fremlin Street. Widowed in 1970 with three young children, Mrs. B’s home soon became the gathering place for all. She loved a good cup of tea, a laugh, a nice pair of heels, Bruce Lee movies, and a “wee half” now and then.

Heartfelt gratitude goes out to the wonderful staff at the Lions Gate Hospital Palliative Care Ward and the North Vancouver Hospice for the outstanding care they provided over the past few weeks. A memorial service and celebration of Molly’s life will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 1:30pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
