It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Sue Won Sam aged 81, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her place of residence at Banfield Pavilion. Predeceased by her loving husband, Fong Wing Sam. Survived by her two children and six grandchildren. She leaves behind her community of friends, care-aids and nurses from Banfield; her care-giver and her loving family whom she shared her honesty and generosity of heart and spirit. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mary was a woman of considerable talents. She was an avid knitter; fairly capable with crochet, but definitely passionate about sewing. She was devoted to her family, a true matriarch, whose mission it was to keep everyone who visited well fed; preparing incredible spreads for family and friends became her trademark. She will be fondly remembered and loved by one and all who knew her. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and funeral services on Tuesday Oct 9th at 10:00 am at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby.
