Min Kong

Min was born on March 8, 1976 to Malila and Sareung Kong in Cambodia. He moved to St. Paul, Alberta 1980, then to Edmonton in 1982. Min is the youngest of three siblings (Kien Chu, Ron Kong and Lee Kong)

After Min graduated from Ross Sheppard High School in 1994, he went on to graduate from Civil Engineering at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1998.

Min started his first job at his parent's Bangkok Hot Pot Restaurant where he was a terrible waiter because he always wanted to go play tennis instead of working 😁. He went on to start his civil engineering career at Lafarge after graduation in Edmonton. After moving to Vancouver, he loved working at his favorite company Advance Testing for the last 10 years.

Min loved playing tennis, going fishing, enjoying the outdoors, spending quality time with friends and family, and watching movies.

In 1996, Min met Jannie in Edmonton at the Legislature grounds, it was love at first sight. Min and Jannie went on to have 2 children, Ethan Kong born on May 18, 2005, and Charlotte Kong born on Jan 17, 2010.

Celebration of his life will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
