A Legacy Measured in Lives Touched
While many measure success in titles or possessions, her true achievement is visible in the people she leaves behind. Her life’s success is beautifully written in the thriving careers and well-being of her four children and the bright futures of her ten grandchildren. She planted the seeds of ambition and kindness in two generations, and we are the living harvest of her hard work.

Our Leader and Coach
In times of uncertainty, we all looked to her. She was our natural leader and our most trusted coach. She didn't just tell us what to do; she showed us how to be better, how to be stronger, and how to navigate life with integrity. Her guidance was the compass that kept us all on the right path.

The Magic of Her Kitchen
If her leadership was our compass, her cooking was our anchor. There was a special kind of magic in her kitchen—a way she used food to bridge gaps, heal hearts, and bring us all together. Those meals were the glue of our family, seasoned with a love that we will carry with us forever.

A Warrior’s Spirit
Perhaps most inspiring was her "fighter" spirit. Whether she was breaking barriers in her professional career, standing up for fairness, or facing illness with iron-willed courage, she never backed down. She taught us that being a "fighter" isn't about the absence of struggle, but the presence of character.

Your sweet, gebtle smile on your face is always in my mind.   You left behind  pieces of kindness advice , your words are always in my heart and memories never fade away.  Now you and my deceased Dad and Mom can meet together in Heaven.  I convince that later we will have chances to reunion in Heaven again.

Dearest Mom

I am so grateful to have you as my mother-in-law and for welcoming me in your family. 

You are always selfless and think of others first. We all have been abundantly  spoiled by your great generosity and lavish gifts. Meals and food have been a constant source of family bonding over the years. All your tasty dishes will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Your tireless efforts to bring us together as a family will not be forgotten and hopefully carry on amongst our own families. You are always so meticulous and thoughtful in remembering all of our birthdays and each of our likes and dislikes.

I'm also thankful to have had shared many family vacations together. The memories are forever imprinted both in our hearts and in the many photos taken. Thank you also for trusting in my family's care while you stayed at our house initially after Dad passed away. 

I loved having casual lunches with you and telling me your life stories, some with pain and regrets and some with joy and pride, teaching me valuable life lessons. Your simple ageless elegance, grace and class is unmatched. You are always remarkably kind and respectful to those around you and are in return consistently well respected and remembered by everyone. You rather let your modesty and actions speak for themselves instead of vain words or showy appearances. I know you like to share about your aspirations and experiences and maybe even some regrets as a working career woman but I would rather like to think your greatest achievement is the wonderful family you have raised and the many generations to come.

I witnessed your immense inner strength and perseverance especially in your early fight against breast cancer and then latter ill health. May you be comforted and rest in peace knowing that your family was with you by your side during the last days, albeit with heartache, as you peacefully took your last breath. May your memory be a blessing to us all.

My Lovely Grandma,

You may have been small in stature (thanks, by the way), but you were definitely larger than life—far beyond my wildest dreams—and the most extraordinary human who ever existed.

A breast cancer survivor. A magician in the kitchen. The epitome of a strong, independent woman. The most generous gift-giver of all time. And the ultimate fighter until the very end, with a memory sharp as a tack. Truly one of a kind—I feel so fortunate to be your grandson in this life and the next.

My superhero, my biggest supporter, my guiding light, my eternal source of happiness and height—and quite simply, the absolute best Grandma anyone could ever dream of having. I was lucky enough to live with you on two separate occasions—those were the best of times!

A wealth of indelible memories floods my mind when I think of you. Honey garlic chicken. Ensure drinking competitions. Extravagant cruise vacations. Friday night family gatherings. You taught me how to play Mahjong. You helped me with school projects. You cooked dinner for me when my parents were away. You dropped off food at our house, even if we didn't ask for it. You drove me to work at the drop of a dime whenever no one else could.

We were two peas in a pod—born almost exactly 59 years apart—and among the most particular people around. We shared a deep love for detailed documentation and a lifestyle of intermittent fasting. We laughed and cracked jokes together, though often at the expense of my mom. I am forever grateful to have spent the past six months by your side, making memories that will last a lifetime.

I miss you terribly already. I can still hear your voice so vividly in my head, telling me to "eat more." I wish I could walk over to your house, which was only one block away from ours. Growing up, your house was my happy place, and now I will carry you in my heart forever, keeping your memory alive until we meet again.

Dear aunt. You had always been a Power Source to reckon with.   Every Chinese New Year dinner you would make food for 10 adults and 12 kids.  Apparently your office work would be running in full steam and none of us was in your kitchen to lend a hand.  Yet you never failed to show up with a broad smile and the most delicious dishes.  Many years later I witnessed what a great family you had built.  I did not have the good fortune to listen to your stories.  But there is no second chance now.  Rest well with Uncle.

My Dearest Grandma,

I’m still adjusting to referring to you in the past tense. But your qualities will always remain present to me. I have so much admiration and respect for your drive, strength, generosity, and nurturing heart. It feels like moments ago that we were just sharing your favourite Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, and you were reminding me of that one morning where I slept through my alarm, so you had to drive me to school for my dance practice. Those two weeks living with you, and these past few weeks will forever be my fondest memories that we share.  

I know that family has been the utmost pillar for you all your life, and I couldn’t be prouder in saying that I’m your granddaughter. Your love and talent surrounding food, and your incredible ability to recreate all your grandchildren’s favourite dishes has always impressed me. It’s like you have a mental catalogue that sorts each of our taste buds, and you’ve mastered how to curate the perfect menu so that everyone gets a dish when we’re together (chicken fried rice for me!). Thank you for always bringing us together with your unparalleled cooking. 

Your laughter is still echoing in my ears, when you were joking about how I was “picked up” since I’m so tall compared to my sisters. It has been such a pleasure to have been by your side, or more so, towering over you with this height of mine. I should also thank you for having an amazing sense of humour and passing it down :) 

I miss you so much, Grandma. But I find comfort in knowing that you are reunited with Grandpa now, and at peace. We parted before I could share my career milestones with you, but I know you will be watching over me as I walk along my path. You will forever be in my heart.

In memory of my beloved Grandma

Thank you for being the best Grandma any girl could ask for. I’m grateful for all the life lessons you’ve shared with me on what it takes to be a strong and independent woman like yourself. You will always be the role model I look up to. I appreciate all the times you were there to listen to me and give me advice. Your intelligence and wisdom have always helped me navigate life.  You will be remembered as a dedicated wife, an amazing mom, and the perfect grandma. 

I’m thankful for all of my childhood memories with you especially weekly Friday night dinners. Now as an adult, I can fully understand how much effort and dedication it took to prepare these dinners. The fact that preparations began every Wednesday and Thursday to ensure that all twenty of your family members were well fed and happy is truly admirable. Even after cooking for three days straight, you continued to spoil us by making the most delicious desserts shortly after we finished eating dinner. 

I’m grateful for our close relationship. I enjoyed our outings whether it be going out for afternoon tea or having shopping trips with you, I am very lucky to have had such a wonderful, selfless, and generous Grandma. I appreciate all the times you shared your life stories with me. About your experiences working at a law firm. Being a successful working woman who learned to speak English fluently on your own, while also being an exceptional mom, is truly remarkable. 

I still can’t believe that you’re no longer with us, but I’m at ease knowing that you are finally at peace and reunited with Grandpa. You will always be forever in my heart. I will remember you as the most classy, fashionable, and elegant woman I know. I miss you so much. Thank you for everything Grandma.

You have been a fighter all your life. 
We all know you are mentally strong, independent, and very proud of your career at the JSM law firm.
