Myrna was born on November 27, 1942, in Naples, Alberta, to John and Yolie Arthur. Her family later moved to Vancouver, where Myrna grew up and attended John Oliver High School. After graduation, she began working at an insurance agency.
At the young age of 18, Myrna met the love of her life, Tony, at a downtown Vancouver dance hall. They were married ten months later in 1962, beginning a love story that lasted 61 years. They were truly a team in everything they did, as there was no Tony without Myrna, and no Myrna without Tony.
Myrna supported Tony in his dream of opening an Italian grocery store, and they succeeded in all their endeavors. While building a business, they also built their family, welcoming three daughters: Lisa (1965), Dina (1967), and Cristina (1972).
Family was everything to Myrna. As her family grew to include eight grandchildren and, later, great-grandchildren, so did her love. She was a doting grandmother who spent hours caring for her grandchildren and deeply enjoyed visits from her great grandchildren in her later years.
Myrna had many cherished friends and enjoyed spending time with them, whether attending banquets, playing cards, or playing bocce in the park during the summer. She also made many friends in Mexico, where she and Tony spent their winters at their condo in Puerto Vallarta.
Myrna passed away peacefully on November 4th, 23 days before her 83rd birthday. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Myrna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Terry), Dina (Clark), and Cristina (Scott); her grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony (Vanessa), Dawson (Marisa), Ariel (Reece), Jordan (Claudia), Conner (Jessica), Brody, and Aidan (Clarisse); and her great-grandchildren, Mia, Maksim, Aleksandar, Lunaciella, and Leo.
She is also survived by her sister Denice (Arnold) and brother Gord (Neena); her brothers-in-law Luigi and Giovanni (Maria-Grazia); her sisters-in-law Rina and Caterina and many nieces and nephews.
Myrna was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Ralph, Achille, Umberto, and Rosario, and her sisters-in-law Emilia, Rosemarie, and Carmela.
A service will be held on December 1, 2025 at 10 am at Ocean View Funeral Home Chapel 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.
