Natalina Patrizia Di Tosto

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and nonna Natalina Patrizia DiTosto (Barbieri) on Saturday, August 10, at the age of 94. Natalina was born December 25,1929 in San Sostene, Italy, and immigrated to Canada on June 16, 1949. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Carlo, in 2005; her sister Dorinda; and brothers Joe, Gennaro and Tony. She is survived by her loving sons Mario, Roy (Cathy); grandchildren Anthony, Mikayla, and Melissa. She also leaves her sister Francesca and brother John, and many nieces and nephews. From the day she arrived in her new country her work ethic was unwavering. She worked at several jobs to support herself and her family, but eventually became an accomplished seamstress, spending the majority of her working years at Storkcraft and Flexsteel Furniture. At the same time, she was raising a family, making countless long lasting friendships wherever she went, and having a garden that was the envy of the neighborhood. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at the New Vista Care Home where Natalina spent the last 3/12 years for their kindness and loving care. Viewing will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Bell Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby B.C. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver, B.C. followed by entombment at Ocean View Burial Park - South Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
