Carissimo zio Pietro, words cannot express the sadness and deep sorrow we feel in our hearts knowing of your passing. With this sorrow and sadness there is also joy, knowing that when God called you home, His promise at your Baptism, Eternal Life, will be yours to enjoy forever. You have reached this new realm, where suffering and pain no longer exist. I can just imagine the elation in Heaven when our loved ones saw you approaching Heaven's gates. I can vividly picture mamma (Eugenia) with her loving arms outstretched to welcome you in. Your love for her has always been strong and you have proven that many times over with your visits and numerous phone calls. I always sensed that you were her favourite. We have loved and admired you very much for your kindness, generous and welcoming spirit. This will continue as we live the legacy that you are leaving behind, the same legacy that nonna and papa Napoleone nurtured in our mind and heart. We are fortunate to be part of a family which kept us united and has taught us to be loving and respectful toward each other. We will always keep you dear in our hearts and we will never forget you. Our love or our memory of you will never diminish.

I will never forget the day I took my mother to the Grimaldi club festa, zio Pietro was the first one to come to say hello to her with the simplest of words 'cugina'.
