Mr. Preben Kent Nielsen

February 9, 1927 – January 31, 2015

With both great sadness and happy memories, we say good-bye to Preben Kent Nielsen. Ken was born in Viborge, Denmark, grew up in Varde and immigrated to Canada in the 1950s. He was predeceased by his first wife Margrete Ellen and his sons Kent and Frank. Son Eric survives him. Ken leaves a loving family, wife Barbara, her sons Brent (Helen) and Rod (Margo) and daughter Ellen (Wayne), our devoted daughter-in-law Juanita, many adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus relatives and friends in Denmark and Canada. Working years were spent on the Vancouver waterfront where he was known as "Doc". Free time was given to his lodge the I.O.O.F. He served in many capacities from Grand Master of B.C. to chair of the low rental board. Special thanks to our granddaughter Vanessa for many hours spent feeding and caring for granddad, also to the staff at Dufferin Care Centre and to our doctor Matthew Choi. No Service. Good night! Good night! As we so oft have said beneath our roof at midnight in the days that are no more. You have but quietly gone to bed.
