Always noted to offer prayers to Amma for the smooth journeys of Ramettan and Vijichechi who became role models for many of my generation.

I am saddened to hear of Raman's passing.  I have very warm memories of Raman and Viji both, and am grateful to have known them, sharing a love of Amma.  May their memories always be a blessing.

Sweet memories with dear Raman 🙏🙏🙏

I was introduced to Raman nearly 25 years ago in San Ramon  California by Ramakrishna Swamiji. Over the ensuing years we saw each other during many Amma’s retreats. I found Raman very caring, quiet, unassuming personality. We started spending more time together during many Amma programs. After 2006 when Amma started her Toronto programs he insisted me & Suma should plan to attend 3 days earlier before the program. Raman, Jay Puthran and me started  to hanging out together for Toronto & Michigan programs. Amma called us jokingly three musketeers! Raman was close to my heart, will always cherish his memories!
We will miss him a great deal.

I remember so many times going to see uncle for volunteer work or just to hang out for a meal. He was such a very kind gentle person and I miss him greatly. May his soul rest in peace. 💕🙏

It was a privilege for us to know Raman in 1996, at the very beginning of the Toronto Satsang, when he was inseparable from his late wife Viji.
Both of them were so inspiring with devotion to Amma, with patience and tirelessly working to do whatever was needed. 

Later on, Sreeja worked closely with Raman on the first Board of Director of Amma Canada, she was impressed by Raman’s equanimity in all situations; by his rectitude and correctness in dealing with anything that came up and that too with humility.

Raman was a role model of Amma’s teachings. He will be remembered by his gentleness, loving smile and how he treated everyone with great respect.

What touched us particularly was that Raman always made us feel as if we were part of his family. Amma’s family was like his family!

When we landed in Canada in 2006, we were already  part of the Kuwait Satsang. It was natural for us to meet Sri. Raman Nair and Smt. Viji at the Toronto Satsang. 

Soon we got an opportunity to visit Ramettan and Vijichechi at their residence. 

Introducing ourselves, we discovered Ramettan and I were closely related as first cousins. Ramettan’s Grandfather Sri Kunju Warrier was a figure highly venerated by the family and by the villagers for his service as the equivalent of a Sheriff there. 

Ramettan is well known back home and some of them will be watching the funeral on line tomorrow.

Our double kinship continued to flourish and Ramettan soon became not only a role model but a local guardian to our daughter and to the rest of us. It was with his help that we bought our first apartment, gave required introduction for securing a job for our daughter and provided advice when we sought his counsel on various occasions.
On account of his expertise and knowledge of carbon rods to moderate the reaction inside the Nuclear reactors as a professional Ramettan was a consultant to Nuclear Power stations.

We will miss him badly and in our grief our solace is that he was an outstanding Amma devotee and his onward life journey will be effortless with Amma’s guidance and grace. 


Uncle Raman didn’t need to speak much, his entire being transmitted devotion, peace, love, and humility. He is with Amma.

Also thinking of Viji auntie at this time. Who is also with Amma. They were two special people that spread their sweet fragrance of love and humility everywhere they go. 

It was a privilege to know them both.

Please accept our deepest condolences.  Raman ettan will always be remembered for his kindness, gentleness and most all for the way he cared for everyone. I am comforted knowing that he spent the last few months with you and your family whom he loved very much.  His eyes would twinkle when he spoke about both his grandchildren.   It gave him so much joy and pride.

Your parents as you know were instrumental in creating an Amma Ashram outside of India for so many of us to call home.  For this, we will all be eternally grateful.

We will miss him, but their legacy will live on. 

May Raman ettan rest in peace and may Amma give you all comfort to bear this loss.

I am deeply sorry for your loss of your dad,  Raman.  Your parents were such an integral part of Amma Canada and such gentle souls.

I met Raman in the early days when Toronto hosted Amma for the first time although I couldn’t attend. 
His dedication and compassion were palpable in all his actions. 
He was so inclusive as  were you as well hosting satsang in Vancouver when he came to town. He would always reach out to our group when he visited!

Before his health took a turn, he made time to call every once in a while and ask how the satsang was doing, what was in the works and how our seva projects were going. Inevitably the talk would turn to Amma’s teachings. His advice was gentle, practical and effective …..always along the lines of what Amma would want us to do. “I’m  just a phone call away”, he would say and my regret today is that I didn’t call to have a chat if not to visit. 
On behalf of the Vancouver satsang, please accept our heartfelt condolences Parvathy. I can imagine that the children will feel his loss  keenly. He talked fondly about his grand daughter’s swimming competitions and his grandson’s games. May Amma’s grace shower upon you and the family and comfort you during this time.

As Raman's passing reverberates through the North American Amma community, I can only echo the gratitude and admiration shared by many for his humility, dedication, generosity, and kindness. Many years after first interacting with them, I see I could have learned so much more from Raman (and Viji)'s example at the time if I had been willing to truly take on board the selfless commitment and grounded maturity they both displayed - combined with a delightful, open-hearted sense of play when the occasion called for it. 
I offer my deep gratitude to them both - and to Parvathy and all of Raman's family who so graciously shared him with us all. Thank you. Bless you. May Amma, Who carries Raman undoubtedly in eternal light, be with all who are missing him today and in the days and weeks to come. 

Myself and Mani are sending in our heartfelt condolences to Raman. You were a true devotee, serving selflessly for the Satsang and we all learned how to be humble, give respect to everyone young or old, Devoted all your time for AMMA. We lost the two pillars of our Satsang. 

Raman Uncle was a quiet, humble, gentle, compassionate Soul yet he accomplished so much. He dedicated his entire life to serve Amma and his family selflessly. Always  would ask how you were doing, and if there were any concerns, he would follow up until they were resolved. Remembering back when Jagadish wrote to him during the Covid times and he responded back saying he did not have adequate words to express his heartfelt thanks.
