Rodolfo Bonora

Rodolfo (Rudy) Bonora passed away peacefully on December 29th at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his loving wife Elsa, Children: Dennis (Theresa) and Diane, Grandchildren: Kathleen (Mike), Brandon (Kristina) and Khadijah (Mike), Great-grandchildren: Dominic and Bennett and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Rudy immigrated to Canada in March 1956 from Maser, Italy and quickly found work as a machinist. He married his childhood sweetheart, Elsa in August 1957 and they went on to become parents of first Dennis in 1958 and Diane in 1965.

Rudy was hard working and quickly rose in the ranks of JKS Boyles Diamond Drilling Co. After 35 years he left to start his own company with his son, Dennis.

Rudy was very community minded and his work with the Confratellanza Italo-Canadese and other charitable organizations gave him great pleasure and sense of achievement.

Rudy loved his garden and could be found there often but his greatest love was kept for his wife Elsa and his growing family. His great grandsons, Dominic and Bennett, kept him laughing to the very end.

Rudy will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am on Friday January 10, 2020 at St. Theresa’s Parish 5146 Laurel St. Burnaby BC. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated
