Rosa was a beloved wife, loving sister, devoted daughter, and remarkable mother. Born on January 10, 1954 in Hong Kong as the fourth-born child to Maria and George Tchao, Rosa passed away on March 16, 2014 at the age of 60. Through thick and thin, she grew up with her five other siblings in a close-knit and loving environment. She attended Holy Angels Canossian School for her elementary education followed by Good Hope School. From 1974 to 1982, she had a treasured career with Japan Airlines as a flight attendant, and it was here that she was able to travel extensively, forge many of her best friendships, and meet her husband. She married who she considered to be her best friend and soul mate on December 15, 1979, and gave birth to four children from 1981 to 1991. She immigrated to Canada in 1989 and devoted the rest of her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and nurturing home. Rosa was known to be very fair, open-minded, calm, and wise, which made her a very popular person to confide in for advice and guidance. In Rosa’s spare time, she enjoyed singing karaoke, getting pampered with massages, having long conversations with her sisters and friends, and above all, playing Mah Jong. She also greatly enjoyed travelling and had the opportunity to go on countless sightseeing trips, beach vacations, and cruises with her family and friends.
She is survived and dearly missed by her husband of 34 years, Sam; children Ryan, Renee, Sarah and Calvin; mother Maria; siblings Patricia, Claude, Agnes, Francis and Anna. She will also be missed by many other family members and friends.
Arrangements under the direction of Ocean View Funeral Home, Burnaby, BC.
