Rosalina E. Jimenez

With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Jimenez Family are saddened by the passing of our loving, caring, brave, incredibly generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Rosalina E. Jimenez.

Born in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines on August 30, 1932, to Marcos Ejerta (Father) and Anicita Pedrosa(Mother). Rosalina was the second oldest of 4 children (Francisco, Estella, Virginia). She attended St. Luke’s Nursing hospital in Manila, Philippines where she received her Nursing Degree.

In 1957, she met her husband Juan Jimenez Jr. at V. Luna General Hospital. Rosalina, a military nurse provided care for Juan when he injured himself serving in the Philippine Navy. They married on October 6, 1957 and were married for 65 years. Together they had 9 children, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. They moved to Canada in 1974 and eventually settled in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Rosalina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She looked forward to visits from family and instilled in them the importance of family unity. She took joy in watching her grandchildren grow up as well as their own children. She was foremost a hard-working and caring person. She was always a compassionate, kind and friendly person; always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. She was a devout Catholic which gave her strength through her life; she served the Church on countless occasions and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She welcomed everyone with open arms and ensured everyone was well fed. She took pride in her profession as a Registered Nurse for 55 years. We will be forever thankful for her generosity and sacrifices. Rosalina will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Rosalina is survived by her husband, Juan Jimenez Jr.; children Marlene Saunders, Esperanza Uriarte, Jocelyn Lee, Noel Jimenez (Chris), Arlene Gangoso (Bob), Mary Jane Jimenez (Ryan), Joel Jimenez (Michelle) and Cherrilyn Jimenez (Cyrus) Grandchildren; Derek, Shondel, Albert, Brandon, Janelle, Mark, Clarisse, Daniel, Jeremy, Stephanie, Jason, Jacob, Chantelle, Ryeason. Great-Grandchildren; Bailey, Lacey, Jenson, Corbin, Koby, Kai, Zoe, Linnaea, Ezekiel, Ava, Calla, Kenzo, Elise, Kye, Holland, Rae and Alessandro.

She is predeceased by parents Marcos Ejerta and Anicita Pedrosa; brother Francisco Ejerta and son Robert Alan Jimenez.
