Rosita, a devout Catholic, known to her family and friends as “Mama Rose”, is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lourdes (Dominador), Rosario (Keiji), Elizabeth (Ferdinand), and Teresita; her sons, Virgilio (Gina), Alberto Jr., Norberto (Melissa), and Bruce; her grandchildren, Jun (Arisa), Dean (Glenjorie), Billie Jean (Patrick), Rachel Joan (Dave), Terri, Jennifer (Justin), Liezl (Kyle), Kayla (Boyd), Don, Kristoffer, Amanda, Kisha, and Margaret; and great grandchildren, Leiah, Aoi, Isabella, Noah, Nathan, Julianna, Vivienne, Martin, Miranda, Marcus, Rex, Asher, Kolbe, and Natalie. Mama Rose holds a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. She became a mother to anyone she met, welcoming every person with grace and warmth. This year, she would have celebrated her 90th birthday. Although her family is deeply saddened, they take great comfort in knowing she can finally rest, remaining united through faith, love, and joy in celebrating her amazing life.
Her family was held so dear to her heart, although many lived in different parts of the world. She had an incredible way of making sure her deep and strong love for each of them could be felt. Even in her later years on her own, when her health and strength were getting weaker, she did her best to be present for many of their milestones. If she had mustered just enough strength to hop on a plane, she made a way to be with her family, especially her grandchildren, from all over. For every birthday, graduation, family reunions, and weddings, she would be there, always ready with a song. And, with her wonderful talent of sewing, she could be seen wearing a beautiful gown of her own or having a dress made especially for her granddaughters when they were little. These family reunions meant the world to her.
One of her beloved gifts her loved ones treasures is her joy and passion of singing, indeed, passed on to her children, grand and great grandchildren. With a faithful devotion to serving the church community, she was an active member of the choir for many years. During family gatherings, she would often grace them with a song, leaving them in awe as she had the sweetest voice, such depth so strong. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, deeply rooted faith, sweet laughter, amazing voice, tender hand, quiet strength, warm embrace, sweet silliness, love for sewing and crocheting, the most delicious cooking, and words of wisdom. Mama Rose lived a beautiful and long life filled with love. She tried her best to raise each of her children and grandchildren, very proud of them all, sharing many life lessons. Her hope was to leave them with a legacy of love and a strong faith. She will be dearly missed by all of her family, friends, and community.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Royal Ascot and their staff for the care, kindness, and love showed to our dearest Mama Rose.
