Brigitta，地球上的光阴又走过一年了。前阵子你突然出现在我的梦里，我们在梦里聊了很多心里话，也走了很长的路去了很多地方。我这几年好几次在想，你为什么不来我的梦里。四年了，这是你第一次来我的梦。醒来后，我努力回想梦里的细节，虽然它们渐渐模糊，但那份思念一直都在，从未褪去。我仍然常常想起你，愿你在那一方世界里安宁、自由，被温柔守护。

致我最好的朋友和家人，

又一年过去了，非常想念你，你的音容笑貌经常浮现在眼前。你太美好了，这个世界配不上这么好的你，希望你在另一个地方继续快乐地生活，是不是已经见到过爱因斯坦了呢？终有一天会再见的，爱你。

In memory of lovely Brigitta, Ruochen, our lovely daughter. You live in our heart forever.

Gone from my sight, but never from my heart. Missing you as always.

Brigitta was a lovely and wonderful girl. When we went to VCLC's summer camp together we hung out together pretty much the entire time with Alvin, always chatting and having fun teasing each other. She was always so sweet and funny. Every time we met afterwards she was always so friendly with me, making me feel so comfortable even though I am usually shy with new people. Although we didn't see other often, it felt like she was a close friend with how nurturing she was. She also made Alvin so happy, which I was so happy to see. We all miss Brigitta, who was such a loving and talented friend. We will always remember her as the wonderful person she is. 

姐，已经过去一年了，我很想你。

你离开我们整整一年了，你的音容笑貌，依然历历在目，仿佛一回头还是能看到你带着大大的耳机安静地在你的位子上学习。我们都很怀念你！也许你遇到了崇拜的偶像，徜徉在科学的海洋。愿你作为天使在天堂里快乐，愿你保佑你的爸爸妈妈平安健康！

On behalf of the Vancouver Christian Logos Church, English Ministry, I just want to acknowledge that it’s been a year since we lost Brigitta. Today, and this week, we pause to remember Brigitta. We stop and contemplate her life as she lived among us. We remember the all the friends in and outside our church who were touched by the loss of Brigitta. And we acknowledge the pain and our need for continual God's grace and comfort.
As we unite our hearts in memory of our loved Sister, may the words of  our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ speak to us: John 14:1-4,6 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
In remembering these words, we know that Brigitta has passed on into God's eternal rest, and we renew our hope and our anticipation of meeting her again when God calls us into his presence. May this hope give us love and compassion for one another as we support each other and carry one another's burdens.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all human understanding, keep our hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and may that love, our eternal source of comfort and strength be with us all, now and forever more. 


I was first introduced to Brigitta in August, 2018 by Alvin. I was impressed that my precious little brother at church had found a smart and charming soulmate. I wrote down her name thinking how beautiful it is in both English and Chinese. I discovered Brigitta more through camping, worships and fellowship. She shared beautiful hymns with us through her own playing and singing. English is our common language through which we can discuss profound topics like our calling, faith and salvation. We miss her at church. She still glows in our hearts. We trust we’ll meet in heaven again as God’s children. Brigitta has found eternal love because God is love.
Sweet Brigitta, RIP! May our  almighty and loving God continue to comfort and lift up your mourning parents, relatives, and Alvin who love you dearly!

若晨，我们快一年没见了，我真的好想好想你。我经常会在梦里见到你，你是那么的开心，也许这就是你现在的样子吧。我常去海边看那棵常青藤，看着她一天天长大，顺便跟你说说话。我相信你都听见了。我经常恍惚中觉得你就在我身边，和我一起走在学校的小路上，坐在我旁边听组会。跟你在一起的每一天，我们一起做过大大小小的每一件事都仿佛是昨天一样。你有一次在梦里对我说，你会一直陪伴着所有人的，我能感觉得到。新来的本科生在继续着你的课题，前两天的演讲还得了奖，很快你的成果就能发表出来了，到时候我和你一起庆祝。你一定要照顾好自己，等着我们团聚的一天。

清明时节雨纷纷，路上行人欲断魂。200个日夜的想念。昨天姥姥在煎鱼，我问怎么这么多？她只说每人一条……晨晨有你的一条。姥姥一直想着你[Sob]我们都在思念你！远在天堂的你还好吧！

下雪了，朵朵雪花从天空中落下。今天18号，你离开我们整整六个月了，泪流满面！半年的思念，182天的想念化作了片片雪花！🙏

18号了，你离开我们整整六个月。昨天查看姥姥的接种证，第二针疫苗时间是9月12日，那时候你还在啊……前几天🌻到了，全部绽放，生机盎然！

今天是情人节，你离开我们整整150天，你是妈妈的小棉袄是爸爸的小情人，我们想你呀！明天又是元宵节，一年中的第一个月圆之夜，也是民间开灯祈福的日子。爸爸妈妈为你祈福！日子一天天熬，我们知道你不在了，知道所有痛苦只能自渡。我们知道不能把自己活得像个落难者一样，也不想告诉所有人自己的不幸。酸甜苦辣都要自己尝，漫漫人生要自己过，所有经历的一切在别人眼里都是故事。因此没有必要把所有的事情掏心掏肺告诉别人。这就是一个孤立无援的过程，我们会努力强大起来！

晨晨：今天破五，妈妈的心又疼了，以为不会再这样了，毕竟时间是治愈的良方。可完全不是这么回事。这个春节总是在早上梦见你，好久没见你，太想你了，看见你开心的不得了，可是一抱你就醒了[Sob]。今天早上照常为你上了三炷香，诵读三遍、抄写了一遍心经，还有圣经。咱俩的星空日记我每天都写，你读到了吧。你的离开我不怨任何人，不是我大度，而是没有意义。我只要你，你不在了什么对我都没有意义。这些日子我读了很多书，只有读书才能化解我的痛苦。爸爸的手术很成功，就是伤口很疼，每天为他换药他很疼就会发脾气，可我觉得是好事，可以分散他的注意力，总好过默默流眼泪！我找到了《科学哲学》这本书的中文版本，你的那本英文版的我也带回来了。读你读过的书，用你用过的笔，穿你穿过的衣服、鞋子。就是想让你一直陪着我，我也陪着你！

今天是2021最后一个晚上了，突然接到朋友的电话说她的狗狗去世了。我很难过。我有时候会想起你，觉得你也许会出现，就是想简单的抱抱你。那只狗狗很可爱，是只四岁的小柯基，很有灵性也很聪明，就是有时候特调皮会耍赖。或许她会找到你的，然后跟你一起玩耍跟你闹跟你逗。2022希望你在另一个世界快快乐乐的。

晨晨：今天是12月26日，你离开我们已经一百天了，我和爸爸都是在无尽的思念中度过的，爸爸每天都会哭，偷偷的不让我看见，我也不让他看见，今天我俩和你说说话，再痛哭一次，过了今天我们必须真正地努力开始新生活了。这两天我都心里慌慌的，发疯地想你，想看看你，想听你的声音，就去听了你的歌，又把你的语音聊天记录用语音备忘录录制了下来。我以为时间久了我就会好……可晨晨你是我的心头肉啊，我身上掉下的肉！我们的骨血，我们唯一的孩子！你爸爸总是对我摇头说过不去呀，过不去了，你保佑他吧，让他过了今天后会有所改善。晨晨我们都太想你了，我每天抄写一段圣经，我们每天为你祈福！咱们的《RC太阳雨教育》的头条号已经更新了一百多条视频了，粉丝也有一百五十多了，加上抖音的粉丝已经超过两百了，最近太心痛了，虽然坚持录制，质量并不高，后面我要努力改进！星空日记我一直坚持写，你都看到了吧，希望我们的文字能走进你的梦里。爱你的爸爸和妈妈！

今天听闻这个噩耗心中只有震惊。我们是在于老师的组里认识的，当时见到你的时候觉得你是一个聪慧活泼的女孩，对科学充满热情和信心。你性格开朗，多才多艺，充满青春活力。你的笑充满感染力，给周围的人带去欢乐和温暖。愿你一路走好，在天堂永远快乐！

你是一个天资聪颖又努力的女孩，年纪轻轻却已成绩斐然。 更令人印象深刻的是你纯真、乐观、与开朗的性格，对理想的初心、追逐、与坚持，以及对待他人的热情、无私、与善良。你的生命虽然短暂，却给世界留下了最绚丽的光彩。愿你一路走好，在另一个世界永远快乐。

I met Brigitta after taking a class together during our undergraduate degree at SFU. I remember how lovely it was to see her in the hallway and stop to chat about what we were up to. She was all smiles and so genuinely friendly. I remember us sharing our summer plans, our research interests, and our mutual love for the Harry Potter books. I was so impressed and happy to hear when she told me she was embarking on graduate studies with her chemistry research group. She had an immense passion for science and it was inspiring.

I am deeply saddened to hear about her passing. I know her generous and cheerful spirit will be so greatly missed. My thoughts are with her friends and loved ones.

I'm still profoundly shocked despite the time that has passed. It's unreal. I met Brigitta in the lab while we were both undergraduates.  She  made me feel welcomed at the lab despite everything being foreign to me, as it was my first time joining a lab. Brigitta was very kind to me. Whenever I was unfamiliar with something, she would always offer to help.

To Brigitta:

A lot of people say that they're passionate about what they study. But you REALLY loved science. I knew this right away when I saw your Einstein wallpaper, and you've become a great scientist yourself. Other people won't understand this, but at your last presentation, I thought it was so genius that you were trying to study the underlying theoretical axioms of wetting modes by altering surface tension. I wish I got to tell you that. We probably understood each other's research the most, and I will sorely miss having you as a labmate. 

Don't worry; Lishen and I will carry out the rest of your work. I'm honoured that I will be able to help share your work. I think that's one of the ways you'd like to be remembered—to share your scientific knowledge and discoveries with the world.

这里是霸霸。真的是好久没见了，自从我去了joint majior 以后。
感谢你在我刚刚进入大学闷闷的时候和我做朋友，帮我占座位。
大学的时候我一直超级羡慕你，聪明又多才多艺，觉得怎么会有这种天才儿童。你还硬要叫我霸霸，明明在我心里你是学神了。听到这个噩耗，回到中国的我惊愕不已，本想等疫情过去再回加拿大找你们玩耍，不过谢谢当时的你给我的温暖，给我一个idol的榜样，没想到吧，霸霸的榜样是你。这一切我就当做你去追你的爱因斯坦去了。我们会想你的
We will finally meet again .


Brigitta is a sweet, kind soul taken from the world far too soon. I met her a few times, as her cousin's friend, and she was an incredibly lovely and intelligent young girl with an adorable smile.  I remember her bright laughter, which would cheer up everyone around her. My deepest condolences goes to her family. May she rest peacefully, forever young and beautiful.

I will never forget the fun times we had together. 

Not sure where to start as this sorrowful news is still very shocking to me.. I met Brigitta in SFU dance team in 2016. She was always very hardworking and helpful. I still remember we often hangout after our dance practices and study together and she would always help me with my math homework. We had so much fun when we were in dance together and practiced our choreography for SFU dance performances.

I will never forget that sleepover we had during our final season.  We stayed really late on campus to study together and studied even more at your place. The first time you showed me your room and your room was full of Albert Einstein posters, figures, even the bathroom shower curtains was a periodic table. You were very passion about your major. Sometimes instead of studying, we would also go off track and start folding rose origami, doodle or talk about random things. It was a really fun and memorable night.

You were always very fun to be around. You will always be missed and remembered. My condolences to her family and friends.

你的名字，早有耳闻，今夏方初次见面。热情开朗，欢笑相随，与君相谈，如沐春风。学业优异、主动担当；迎难而上，追求真理。导师每每谈及，赞不绝口！现正风华正茂，海阔天高，挥斥方遒之际，却戛然而止。我们无不为之痛惜扼腕。

I don't even know how to start. I keep thinking of you over and over again. And I am still in shock. 

The day I met you wasn't a sunny day. It was very rainy that the entire Burnaby mountain was so foggy and the road was slippery. And that was the first day I transferred to SFU for my third-year study. You happened to sit next to me in a lecture that day. I was trying to make some new friends so I said Hi to you. And you were so open to me, and knowing that I was new to the school, you even showed me around the school after the class though that day was a rainy day. I think people would prefer to stay indoors in this kind of humid weather, but you were just too friendly and kind. 

Since then, we became very close friends. And I remember some professors even thought that we were sisters because we were very closed and we look alike in some ways. I was so happy and I am still very grateful that you said Hi back to me the first time we met, welcomed me into your life and into your family, sharing joys with me and bringing laugher into my life. To me, you are just what your Chinese name implies "like sunshine". 

You were my sunshine, and I am sure that you will continue on bringing happiness and sunshine into other people's lives in another world.

I miss you, my best friend, Ruochen Sun. 
I hope you are resting in peace.

Even I only met Brigitta once in my dessert store, she gave me a deep impression. She was shinning and outgoing. We just had a few words communication and I invited her to eat cakes next time. I was pleasure to meet her and hoped to become the best friend in the future. I was quite shocked the accident happened after two days we met. I could not even believe the true, I could clearly remember her appearance, her smile and her words.
I had the honor to attend the farewell ceremony, I sincerely prayed, ”God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. — Revelation 21:4”
I will miss you, Brigitta. Hope you enjoy the happiness in the heaven.

Brigitta was always full of smiles and so lovely to be around whenever I had the chance to spend time with her and her cousin. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. My heartfelt condolences to her family. 

I am still in shock. She is a beautiful soul. I am truly grateful to have met her and got inspired by her hard work and ethics. My condolences to her family and friend.

It is a deep sorrow when I heard the tragedy. I was very shocked and sad. In my impression, she is a very optimistic, brave person who faces life positively. We met in an organic chemistry class. I was deeply impressed by her enthusiasm for research. We were friends and she was more like my mentor. With her encouragement and help, I enter the Department of Chemistry at SFU as MSc student as well. In daily life, we both like river snail rice noodles, playing music, and talking about life together. It is a sorrow that we have lost our best friend and a genius in the scientific research community. She will be remembered by us forever.

2016 SFU Athletics Dance Team- Brigitta just being effortlessly beautiful! 

On behalf of the SFU Athletics Dance Team we are sending so much love to the Sun family. Brigitta was part of our 2016/2017 team and was and will always be a well loved and cherished member of our team. She will be deeply missed. 

Brigitta is like a shining star that we all gravitated towards to. She was very hardworking, knowledgeable, perceptive, logical and caring.  We all looked up to her socially and academically. She was looking out for others even during times when she was busy. Like a star, we found ourselves close by. 

I will never forget the moments when we were all together studying, hanging out and laughing in the SFU AQ cafeteria.

I was so saddened to hear this shocking news. I met Ruochen at Tianjin Experimental High School in 2009. We were both in the ReFeng (Hot Wind) Art Ensemble. Although we were in different rehearsal rooms, the passion of music and dance were always interweaved together. We lost connection after junior high’s graduation until we found each other again on Facebook in 2016 as we were both in Canada taking the Bachelor’s degree. It is very difficult for me to calm myself.  Please accept my deepest condolences and let me know what I can do for Sun’s family.

I met Brigitta during the first year of University. We became best friends and classmates in a maths course. Brigitta is intelligent and hardworking. I remember she always encouraged me when I got stacked. Her smiles look like sunshine and warm my heart. We studied together, prepared foods, went skiing and shopping, and sang our favorite songs while walking on the street. Her voice is sweet and soft but with strength.
She is my besties, and more like a sister.  We have been best friends for almost six years and never been apart. I know her favorite songs, musicians, and her super idol is Einstein. She knows my favorite food, brands, and my super idol is Curie.
I feel heartbroken and really miss you. But when I saw our photos, your big smiles healed me and seemed like you never leave me alone. 
My beloved friend, Brigitta, you are always my sunshine after rainstorms.

It was a profound shock and sorrow to hear of this sad news. Brigitta was my best sister and friend, forever. We grew up together and always shared lots of secrets at that time.  She was a warm-hearted, considerate, brave and decive person. She always brought me a lot of fun and help during the past time. We skied together, went to the Happy Valley together, talked about Harry Potter together...Whenever I need any help or advice, she always spent no effort to support and encourage me immediately. She was one of the most important people in my childhood and my life. I will miss her forever.  Please accept my sincere condolence.
