Sabatino Evangelista

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sabatino, our much loved husband, dad and nonno, who closed his eyes for the final time on February 2nd, 2016. Born in Celano, L'Aquila, Italia on May 6th, 1933, Sabatino immigrated to Canada in 1959 to provide his family with a better life. Sabatino was predeceased by his son, Paolo and brother, Nino. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pasquina, children: Tony (Leslie), Lisa and Paul (Giselle), grandchildren: Nicola, Trevor, Justine, Michael, and Jarrad, sister-in-law: Maria, brothers: Vittorino (Adriana) and Mario (Louisa), sister: Palmina (Pepino) in Italy, brother-in-law: Loretto (Rosaria) as well as many friends and relatives throughout the world. The family would like to thank many people for all their support, both emotional and medical. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 2-4pm at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 11th at 1 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 2025 Napier St., Vancouver, with entombment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery's South Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to May's Place Hospice, Canucks Autism Network, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
