Kathy was born in Hong Kong to her mother Lin Hong Lo and the late Muk Leung Chow. She was the 2nd oldest of 6 siblings. At the age of 19, she moved to the US to study pharmacy together with her future husband, Alan Hong Yee Choi. During this time, Kathy was touched by the grace of God and accepted Jesus as her personal saviour in 1976. Soon after in 1980, she married her love, Alan, in Reno, Nevada.
The happy couple travelled around the US, exploring the country in between studies and jobs. In the fall of 1984, they gave birth to their son, Aaron, in California. Their travels eventually brought them to Canada, uniting them with her older sister and parents. They settled in Richmond, BC where they had their daughter, Camelia, in 1989.
Kathy had been a dedicated pharmacist for 37 years up until her passing, with the majority of her time spent serving the community of Abbotsford, where her family finally settled. Many know her as the “IT Tech” who was always excited and ready to fix any computer problem while others remember her as a loving and caring pharmacist, always wanting to help. The common thread is that she was always willing to lend a hand. She was at her happiest when she was caring for friends and family. Kathy was truly a servant of the community and God.
She will be forever remembered, cherished and deeply missed in our hearts as a wife, mother, sister, aunt and dear friend.
Please join us in celebrating her life at 1:30 PM on Sept 30th at Ocean View Funeral Home. The reception will be held at Fortune House Seafood Restaurant (2199A - 4700 Kingsway, Burnaby) at 5 PM.
Kathy requests that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be forwarded to her favourite evangelical organizations including: Far East Broadcasting (FEBC), Chinese Christian Mission (CCM), and Vancouver Chinese Christian Short Term Mission.
