

Selina Kim Sam passed away peacefully in Burnaby on December 13, 2021. She was 60 years old. Selina is lovingly remembered by Jackson Wu, her husband of 33 years, and her daughter, Kaitlin. Selina is also survived by her father, Stephen Sam; sisters, Karen (John Leong) and their family, Georgina and Janet, and brother, Derek and his family. She was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Sam (nee Wong). Born in Burnaby, Selina grew up in Vancouver, where she attended Killarney Secondary School, then later studied economics at UBC, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She married Jackson in 1988, after the two first met on a badminton court. Over time she became financial manager of her husband’s restaurant businesses while continuing her career in banking. Selina enjoyed eating delicious food, organizing multigeneration family holidays and events, and was a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks. Her pride and joy was her family. Selina’s constant love and care for her daughter, husband, her father and her siblings and their families will always be cherished, as well as her deep commitment, steady focus and incredible strength of mind. She is a most beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
