Serafino Gentile

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Serafino Gentile at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Castelsilano, Italy to the late Maria and Vincenzo Gentile. Pre-deceased by his brothers Giuseppe, Francesco, Luigi and Vincenzo.

Serafino is lovingly survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marietta (nee Cristiano) his daughter Maria (Gian Paolo) and son Vincent (Lianne). He leaves behind five grandchildren Angela (Ian), Steven (Sarah), Crystal, Serafino Jr., Vincent Jr., two great grandchildren Brody and Blake, brother Rosario (Luigina) and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Those that knew Serafino will miss his infectious smile and passion for life. Everyone knew family was his first love. Then came his shop Gentile’s Cabinets Plus which he and Vincent established in 1984 and will continue in his memory for years to come. Lastly Serafino loved his garden. After a long day at the shop he would be found in the garden singing to whatever tune he had on the radio. His garden flourished with the love he put into it.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel of Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street in Burnaby on Tuesday June 23rd at 10 am. Entombment to follow in south Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Serafino’s memory to the Alzheimer Society Canada.
