Shee Chong passed away peacefully in the presence of his family. He was born in Ah Woo, Pon Yuey, China on November 10, 1933. The older brother to a twin, both immigrated to Vancouver in 1950 at the age of 17. He was a generous and hard working man that loved his family. Even after retirement, Shee Chong would still be going about his work and tending to his farm.
He is survived by his children David, Gordon (Janet), Linda (Ken), Mary; grandchildren Michael (Jennifer), Jennifer (Geronimo), Lisa, Karen; great grandchild Levi, his sister-in-law Sue Foon Choo, his nieces and nephews and his many extended relatives in China. He is predeceased by his wife, Yim Kow Choo and his younger twin brother, Shee Bun "Alex" Choo.
Following in his father's footsteps, Shee Chong was a farmer. He would continue to work up to his later years on one of the many farm properties he jointly owned with his twin brother and sister-in-law.
Always on the go, Shee Chong loved travelling. He would go on many trips with his wife around Asia visiting relatives and sightseeing. Even at home, Shee Chong would meet up with friends in Chinatown to go explore Metro Vancouver later in life.
A playful and funny man, he loved to play Mahjong and cards with family and friends. Shee Chong was an amazing cook and would cook up delicious food for his children and grandchildren.
He was a selfless and kind person who always put his family first.
He will always be remembered and loved.

A visitation for Shee Chong will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
