Mrs. Shizuko Susan Sugiyama. Born October 19th, 1919 in Steveston, British Columbia. Passed away on December 24th, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Susan is predeceased by her husband Hideo Sugiyama and her brother George Nakatsu. She is survived by her brother Shigeo (Sid) and Tomi Tamaki, her three loving daughters, Judy Thomsen, Alice (Anderson)Bradley (Nils) and Esther Monasch; four grandchildren, Lea ( Justin) Ault, Erin (Piers) Carr, Christa ( Anthony) Farber, and Michael Monasch, 2 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6th at 1:30 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Chapel 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby. Guests wishing to view will be received one hour prior at 12:30 pm. Burial to follow within the cemetery grounds. In lieu of flowers donations in Susan’s name are greatly appreciated to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, The BC SPCA, or the Nikkei Community Center.
