Sik Chiu Hui, 88, of Burnaby, passed away January 13, 2021. He was born in Toishan, China on September 10, 1932. Sik Chiu graduated with certifications in accounting and culinary arts in Hong Kong. He married Kam Tang Ng on June 3, 1964.
Sik Chiu worked as a crew member on a cargo ship for over a decade before immigrating to Canada in 1974. In Canada he settled into the restaurant business, working as both chef and owner in Calgary until his retirement. He moved to Burnaby in 2013 to be closer to his children. Sik Chiu was a member of the Burnaby Christian Pentecostal Church, and had a passion for ping-pong, reading the news and walking.
He is survived by wife Kam Tang; children Shirley, Richard (Helen), and Susan (Glen); grandchildren Daniel, Kayla, and Melissa; brother Herbert (Ruth); and sister Wai Fong.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 1:00 PM, February 2, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
