With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Silvestro Spagnuolo after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Silvestro was born in Montefredane, Avellino, Italy. Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Virginia. Survived by his loving family, wife Gilda, children Anthony (Josie), Cosimo (Terri) Mary, Carmelo and Susy, grandchildren Alex, Stephen, Daniel, Carley and Wendyrose, brothers and sister, John (Ginette), Nina (Tony), Cosimo (Rosa), Nick (Alba) and Mario (Edith), brothers-in-law Tony (Maria) and Ugo (Anna) and extended family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11th at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 525 Slocan Street, Vancouver, B.C. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Garden Mausoleum, Burnaby, B.C. Special thanks to the wonderful Palliative Care Staff at VGH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency.
