Siu Kwon “Brenda” Wong passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Michael’s Hospice on May 30, 2024. Predeceased by her mother, Sui Poy Yueng, and father, Lam See, sister Siu Gum Choy and brother Lam Mun Fay and daughter in law Chantal Wong. She is survived by her husband, Hin Young “Henry” Wong, sister, Lee Bo Kun, children, Jimmy (Angeline), Kim (Mark) and Alden, grandchildren, Perri, Tabitha, Griffin, Kylie and Evan, and many nieces and nephews.
Born in China on December 2, 1939, Brenda arrived in Vancouver on April 24, 1958, and was married to Henry on May 10, 1958. Brenda worked as a quality inspector at Koret of California and as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn Broadway. However, she found her greatest joy and fulfillment as a loving mother and a doting grandmother.
Brenda had a vibrant social life and particularly enjoyed Friday night mahjong sessions with her friends. She was an avid fan of Chinese TV dramas and loved traveling, especially to China, to visit family and friends. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Brenda’s warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, June 13 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Guests and relatives are welcome to arrive as of 9:30 AM.
Lunch reception to follow at Grand Neptune Seafood Restaurant at 1:00 PM, at 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby BC. Please RSVP at the sign in desk before the service.
