Sofie was called home November 11, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.
Born February 6, 1931 in Teharje, Celje, Slovenia to Janez and Marija Jager.
Sofie married Josef Kossaber in 1952.
In 1954 they left Slovenia for Austria where they lived for 2 years. They decided to go to Canada where they landed in Montreal on November 18, 1956. After a short stay in Montreal, they travelled by train to Winnipeg arriving in January 1957. In June 1957 they moved to, and settled in Vancouver.
Sofie had a long and successful career in the hospitality industry working at several hotels. Upon her retirement in 1992 she enjoyed gardening. She was known for her “Green Thumb”. It showed in her beautiful gardens.
Predeceased by her Mother – Marija Jager, Husband Josef, Brother Fredrik(Fritz), and Son-In-Law Joe (Joza) Danicic-Zdenka’s husband.
Sofie is survived by her Children Zdenka, Leon (Cindy), and Anita (Mark), Grandchildren Elaine, Julia, Megan (Colin), and Orianna and Great Grandchildren Finnley and Mikaela.
