Sou May (Yee) Sam

She was born in Hoy Ping, China. After moving to Hong Kong for a brief period of time, she eventually settled in Vancouver in 1959.

Many years were spent running the family businesses (Columbia Food Market - Port Coquitlam, and Maple Florist - Port Moody).

May loved entertaining and sharing meals with her friends and family. Cooking, travelling the world, and throwing mahjong parties were some of her passions in life. She also enjoyed catching up on the latest news with her many friends in addition to watching her favourite tv shows and movies.

She will be deeply missed by her husband John, her four children: Edward, Spencer, Andrew (Irina), Jackie (Ernie), her two granddaughters: Megan (Ty) and Sarah (Kaydon), and her many family and friends near and far.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 2 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home (4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, BC).

The Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:00 am at Ocean View Funeral Home with the burial and a lunch reception to follow.
