Mr. Stanley Quon Yuen Low

April 27, 1935 – February 12, 2025
Obituary of Mr. Stanley Quon Yuen Low
IN THE CARE OF

Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park

Loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Stanley Quon Yuen Low (“Stanley”) passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025 at Burnaby General Hospital. He is survived by Sou Ying (“Judy”), his wife of 61 years; daughter Pinky, son-in-law Stewart, and grandkids Jonathan & Stephanie; daughter Vickey, and grandkids Joshua & Brandon.

Stanley was born in Zhongshan in Guangdong, China on April 27, 1935 and immigrated to Canada as teenager to be with his father. He and Judy were married in Vancouver, BC on February 23, 1964 and later moved to Port Alice, BC to start their family. He was a machine operator at the local pulp mill for 45 years until retiring on May 21, 1999. Stanley was a hard worker who was well liked and respected by his colleagues. He was always carefree, happy and particularly enjoyed his few days off to go deer hunting or fishing around Port Alice.

After retiring they moved down to the Lower Mainland of BC and eventually settled in Burnaby, BC. After decades of hard work, Stanley savoured his down time to enjoy many activities including tending to his huge garden and fig trees, daily walks to buy his Chinese newspaper, playing mahjong, or enjoying his favorite shows on TV. He loved travelling, especially ocean cruising where he has visited Alaska, the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, and the Mexican Baja. Stanley loved eating and always looked forward to go out for a tasty outing. Stanley loved his grandkids and “Gung Gung”, as his grandkids and their friends called him, never failed to pick them up after school every day.

Stanley will be remembered, loved, and sadly missed by his family and friends.
