It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of a kind husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
Nigk Chong Tan was born in Johor, Malaysia on March 28, 1941. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in July, 2024. He passed away peacefully while sleeping, with family at his bedside on September 11, 2024 in Burnaby, British Columbia.
He immigrated to Canada in 1981 with his young family and settled in the Vancouver area. He is survived by his wife; Jessie Kim Lian, his children; Louise (Nuzhet), Mavis (Kevin), grandsons; James and Lucas. Also survived by extended family members in Canada, Malaysia, and Singapore.
He was called to the Eternal Home to be with our Lord and Savior, see you soon dad!
A funeral service will be held in the weeks to come at Forest Lawn, in Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vancouver Canaan Church. More details will be announced in the coming days.
