With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Steven (Steve) Simon. Born and raised in Sulinci, Slovenia. He later immigrated to Canada in 1957 where he worked as a master craftsman cabinetmaker with JR Bezanson until his retirement in 1985. He is survived by his loving wife Terezia (Terry) of over 50 years, sons Steve Jr. and Ben (Rachela), only grandchild Melanie, and brother Joze in Slovenia. He is predeceased by his brother Emeric, sisters Maria and Ann. Steve was a very skilled winemaker, had a true love for nature and the outdoors while spending plenty of his time at his favourite place in Pt. Roberts, Wash. Prayers for Steve will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30 p.m. and funeral services on Wednesday March 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Parish, 6350 Nanaimo St. Vancouver. His entombment will follow at the south mausoleum at Ocean View Cemetery, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby with reception afterwards. Steve will be sadly missed by all his loved ones and many friends.
