Sue Ngown Wong

died peacefully in Vancouver on March 1, 2021 in Vancouver, BC, Canada at the age of 90.

Sue is survived by her children, David (Winnie), Gary (Jenie), Tom, Donna, and grandchildren Alison (David), Skyler, Michael and Marcus. She is preceded in death by her husband Dick Chan, and children Wallace, Jane and Shirley.

Sue was born on September 21, 1930 in Sun Wui, Guangdong, China to Huang Qu-Jin, and Yang Chen. She married Dick Chan in 1949. After moving to Vancouver, Canada, the couple welcomed 7 children into their home. Her family remember her as a loving, supportive and dedicated mother and grandmother who encouraged them to be happy and pursue their goals.

Sue loved to cook, garden, sew, make silk flowers, karaoke and socialize with her many friends. She was an active and dedicated member of the Chinese Benevolent Association and many other Chinatown associations.

The family would like to thank Villa Cathay for the care they provided to her.

We will miss and always remember her with love.
