Suk Ching Lam

November 10, 1953June 12, 2020

Suk Ching, (Sanny) Lam peacefully returned to God on June 12th, 2020 in Vancouver at the age of 67. Sanny is survived by her husband Alfred, sons Eric and Edward, daughters-in-law Catherine (Eric's wife) and Kristin (Edward's wife), as well as two granddaughters, Natalie and Noelle.

Sanny was born on November 10th, 1953 in Hong Kong. She married Alfred in 1977. She was a God-fearing, strong but gentle soul. She had a soft heart for those who are less fortunate, but an unwavering sense of right and wrong. One of her last words were: take good care of each other.

A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ocean View Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to BC Cancer Foundation at 150-686 W. Broadway, Vancouver BC. The family would like to thank BC Cancer Foundation, Vancouver Hospice Society, and Fraser Lands Church for their support.

Miss me - but let me go.

I would like to take this time to sincerely thank those who have sent cards, messages, texts, flowers and donations over the last week. Your words have meant a lot to us as I mourn the loss of my wife. I apologize for not responding to each message personally, but please know that each note brought me comfort during this difficult time.”

I remember the first time that we met at a summer gathering several years ago. You were warm and welcoming with your gentle smile when we were introduced as Kristin's aunt and uncle. I could see how much family meant to you when you watched your grand daughters played with grandpa in the garden. I'm grateful that we had shared a brief moment of time together, we'll miss you but you'll remain forever in our hearts.
I know you're at peace and our heavenly father have welcome you home with open arms.

It is not the destination but the journey that matters, and I am glad that we were able to be a part of that journey. I remember the first time meeting Mrs Sanny Lam, it was when Edward introduced his family to ours. She was warm and welcoming and treated us like family. Cayden appreciated the many gifts she has given him over the years. Each dinner we see her, she welcomes us with her warm smile and although she remained silent most times her love beamed and was felt among all. We will sorely miss her physical presence but I know her love that she radiates will continue to be felt during dinners and gatherings. You will always remain in our hearts.
Love Cayden, Corinne and Colin Lau.

Sanny and her family were our first neighbor living upstairs of our home when we immigrated from Hong Kong 33 years ago. She was an amazing wife, a lovely mother and a dear friend. She will be missed and remembered in many years while having God’s care in the heaven.

It is a blessing to me to have known Sanny and thank God that we are sisters in Christ as well. We have shared so much happiness in her home. She loves her family and she was excited when talking about her two lovely granddaughters. Sanny always cares about others even she was sick herself. I will never forget her smiles and kindness. I also admire her faith in God. As God has promised us that life is everlasting, I believe I will see Sanny again in heaven one day. She will be remembered and dearly missed. May she rest in peace.
With love from Josephine
