It is with great sadness and loss, that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother (Bachan).
Tamiko was predeceased by her husband Tim Masashi Nakano, and her daughter Laura Lynn. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Karen and her son-in-law Ian, her daughter Valerie and her son-in-law Robert, son Wesley, and her daughter Lisa and her son-in-law Jim.
She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Naomi, Nicholas, Tamiko, Sarah, Kimiko, Mathew, Ryan and Grace.
9 great grand-children Hayley, Alexa, Gabby, Samantha, Mya, Elianna, Reina, Kaira, and Raiden.
Mom was a meticulous seamstress, mender of all things from ripped jeans, designing outfits, to suits. She loved to cook her Japanese foods, knitting, and going to the casino to play her favorite slot machines. She was known for her loving care of others especially her family when they were in their last years. She was loved by all who knew her and she made quite the impression on all those who met her. She loved to tease with her sense of humor right until the time of her passing.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at Zion Park Manor for making her feel loved and cared for. A special thank-you to her nurse Marian, who was the last one mom saw and gave her little smirk to before she passed in her sleep on the morning of April 16, 2022.
Viewing will be on Wednesday April 27, 2022 from 7-8 pm at Ocean View Cemetery.
A burial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Thursday April 28, 2022 at Ocean View Cemetery with a memorial service at 1:00 pm and tea to follow at Royal City Curling Club- 75 6th Ave E, New Westminster.
I lieu of Koden, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice.
