

With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Teresa Lo Cicero (née Iacono). After an extended illness, she slipped peacefully into her eternal sleep on December 16, 2024. Teresa was born on June 29, 1933, in Santa Elisabetta, Sicily, Italy. Over her long life, she became mother to five children, grandmother to six and great-grandmother to five. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfonso, her daughter Vincenza, her son Angelo, her brothers Pasquale and Lorenzo Iacono, and her sister-in-law Giuseppina Iacono.
She is mourned by her three surviving children, Giuseppe and daughter-in-law Lucia (Surrey BC), Rita DiMaggio (née Lo Cicero) and son-in-law Vitale (Laval, QC), and Gina Froese (née Lo Cicero) and son-in-law Marc (Ponoka, AB). She will be deeply missed by her loving grandchildren Sabrina, Mariella and partner Jack, Ricki, Christina and husband Bartley, Justin and wife Pamela, and Arabella. Teresa took great joy in her later years in the births of her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Mason, Angelina, Juliana and Laurence. She is survived by her sister Maria Milioto (née Iacono) of Santa Elisabetta, Sicily, and her sister-in-law Jocelyn (Lina) Iacono of Houston, TX.
Teresa immigrated to Laval in 1967 where she worked many jobs, including as a seamstress in textile manufacturing. She believed very strongly in the importance of hard work for shaping character. She became a proud Canadian in 1975 and later moved to British Columbia with her family in search of greater opportunities, eventually settling in Langley. Teresa was proud to have learned both French and English in her later years. She had a passion for gardening and shopping. Her life was marked by her unwavering faith in God, and a deep love for her family. Her resilience, dedication, and love will remain a lasting inspiration to those who knew her. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
