Urmila Devi Anita Pillay

Urmila Devi Anita Pillay was born on December 10, 1948 in Ba, Fiji Islands and passed away peacefully on August 16, 2014 in St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia. Our hearts shattered when her heart stopped. Lovingly survived by her husband of 49 years, Andrew; daughter, Rose; son, Gabriel; daughter-in-law, Roberta; mother, Shiri Mati; sisters, Pauline Francis (Vincent), Aruna Ram and Suman Edwards (Bill); brothers, James and Jitendra (Soni). Predeceased by brothers Nagen, Janme, Ajay, Dinesh and father Shiu. She is our beloved Ma, Dee, Munni, Bupoo, Bhabhi, Bhurkey, Auntie, Mami, Mama, Fua, Kaki, Saas, Nani, Friend and Vancouver Canucks devotee! She leaves behind many broken hearts around the world. In June she retired after 37 years as a Patient Care Aide for Providence Health Care. Special thanks to the exceptional care provided by the 3rd floor Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of St. Paul's Hospital. Prayer Service and Viewing at St. Mary's Parish, 5251 Joyce Street, Vancouver on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 3 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10 am with Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park's South Mausoleum at 11:30 am.
