Mr. Wang Wen Xiang was born on May 8, 1934 in a small village in Qixian Township, Linqu County, Shandong Province, China. During his childhood and adolescence, he experienced hard years of hunger, wars, and loss of his father at an early age.
Mr. Wang married his wife Chen Xiu Zhen in 1958, and they had two sons and one daughter. They experienced turbulent years such as the Great Leap Forward and the Ten-Year Cultural Revolution. Although life was hard, the family loved each other and lived happily together.
In 1991, Mr. Wang and his wife came to Canada to visit their eldest son’s family for a while when their eldest granddaughter was born. Later, after retirement he and his wife immigrated to Canada together with their second son in 1993 to reunite with their eldest son and his family.
Mr. Wang retired and spent 30 years of happy life in Canada. He helped raise three granddaughters and one grandson.
Mr. Wang was a good father and grandfather. He made great efforts and many selfless sacrifices to care and support his children. He led by example and taught his children integrity, kindness, diligence, and hardworking. He was a lovely grandfather. He and his wife helped to raise three granddaughters and one grandson. He treated his grandchildren as the apple of his eye, loved them dearly and gave excellent care. He was deeply loved by his grandchildren.
Mr. Wang enjoyed his life in Canada very much. He loved the blue sky, the bright sunshine, the clean air and water, and the beautiful sceneries. He enjoyed outdoor activities, growing flowers and vegetables, hiking and sightseeing. He loved to make friends and had great times together with many elderly Chinese people and became good friends with them.
Mr. Wang was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2019. After a successful surgery, it was discovered that the cancer had spread to the liver. He was always optimistic, never complained, and actively cooperated with the treatment and care of medical and nursing staff and arrangements of the family. With the love and good care of the family, he successfully battled the disease and survived more than 4 years, far exceeding doctor’s prognosis of 6 month on average. Sadly, he still passed away at 8:18 am on October 25, 2023, but he left us peacefully. He had no pain or discomfort throughout his illness, which was a blessing from God and a blessing to his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Wang is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughter-in-laws, a daughter and son-in-law, and six grandchildren. He will forever live in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
Today we deeply mourn the passing of Mr. Wang Wenxiang with a heavy heart. We wish him a good journey. We are convinced that he has gone to heaven, a happy and healthy place without illness or pain.
Mr. Wang Wenxiang, Rest In Peace!
