Young Soon Soo passed away at the age of 98 on December 27, 2022 in Vancouver at Royal Ascot Care Centre, after struggling with a number of age related health issues, including the after-effects of 2 hip surgeries in 2022.
She was born in China on July 21, 1924, left China for Hong Kong in 1948 and immigrated to Canada in 1956.
She is predeceased by her husband, Chuck Soo (also known as Soo Gook Ting), sisters Yang Wei Tai and Young Gan Tai, brother Yeung Kum Wu and son-in-law Holden John Yip.
She is lovingly survived by daughter Greta Soo, son Gary Soo (May Cho), grandson Andrew Soo, granddaughter Natalie Soo, step-grandson Daniel Yip (Joanna Vu), step-granddaughter Amanda Yip, as well as nephews Yang Kuo Ching (Yang Jung Ti) and Kam Kwang Sheng (Kam Kit Fong) and many other nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces living in China, Macau, Toronto and Vancouver.
The memorial services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
