Yueh Hsia Liao

March 29, 1937 – March 2, 2025
Obituary of Yueh Hsia Liao
IN THE CARE OF

Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park

Yuen Yueh Hsia, a loving, devoted mother and grandmother, and pillar of strength, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on March 29, 1937, in Taiwan, Yuen Yueh Hsia grew up during a turbulent time, enduring the hardships and suffering of war. Despite the challenges she faced, her resilience and compassion shaped the foundation of her life.

She married the love of her life, Mien Shun Liao, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth for their six children. Yuen Yueh Hsia was the heart and soul of our family, offering guidance, and teaching us about wisdom and hard work. She was the glue that kept the family together, always putting her loved ones first.

Yuen Yueh Hsia was an incredible woman and a devoted Buddhist. Raising six children was no small feat, but she did so regardless of the hardships endured, and helped each of them navigate life's challenges to become successful, compassionate adults. We are deeply grateful for her love, wisdom, and support, which will remain with us always.

In addition to her role as a mother, Yuen Yueh Hsia was a courageous and industrious woman. She undertook numerous home renovations and even built her own house back in the olden days in Taiwan. Mom was also quite an entrepreneur. She built a new life from scratch after immigrating to Canada with nothing but her family, managed her own grocery store, and accomplished many other great things in life.

Yuen Yueh Hsia is survived by her six children; Wen (Dianna), Jean (Ben), Kam, Paul (Theresa), Ken (Rose), Polly (Roy); 13 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Rest in peace, Mom, and be with Buddha. You were our everything, and you will always be in our hearts forever.
