Born in Hong Kong on September 19, 1949, May was always looking for an adventure. She worked as a book binder in Hong Kong -- a job rarely done by women at the time. She married on August 2, 1974 to her devoted husband, Sung Ming Lee and moved to Canada on August 16, 1974 -- in search for a better life for her family and an even greater adventure.
After arriving in Canada, she had two children and settled down in Kitimat, BC for 27 years. She learned English by watching TV soap operas and dedicated her life to raising her two children.
Later, she and her husband moved to Burnaby, BC to be closer to their children. She loved tending to her garden, practicing her tai chi and singing her karaoke. May loved to travel and has been at least two dozen cruises and bus tours. But most of all, May loved to cook a great meal. At May's home, there is always plenty of food and you will never be hungry after a meal.
