Tomasa was born November 16, 1921, in Blanco, and moved to Burnet at a very young age spending over 82 years as a resident of Burnet.
Tomasa was married to Charlie Castillo of Burnet and together they raised nine (9) children, Adelia Rivera of Waco, Texas; Felipe Salazar; Benita Gutierrez of Marble Falls, Texas; Lydia Gonzalez of Waco, Texas; Jimmy Salazar of Austin, Texas; Angie Castillo of Burnet, Texas; Charlie Castillo, Jr. of Montgomery, Texas; Henry Castillo of Burnet, Texas and Daniel Castillo of Burnet.
Tomasa’s life accomplishments were centered around her Family. Tomasa devoted her life to raising her children, sharing her love, knowledge, and discipline. Most importantly she shared her love of Jesus Christ our Savior. Tomasa was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Tomasa was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Castillo; Daughter Adelia Rivera; Sons Felipe Salazar, Jimmy Salazar and Daniel Castillo and her parents Santos and Maria Bernal.
Tomasa is survived by her daughters Benita (Lino) Gutierrez, Lydia Gonzalez, and Angie Castillo and sons Charlie (Teddy) Castillo, Jr. and Henry (Margaret) Castillo.
Tomasa’s legacy continues to live through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. This unassuming Lady has given rise to housewives, business owners, communication designers, medical field personnel, accounting leaders, rock masons, plumbers, roofers, auto industry leaders, college graduates, oil field workers, childcare leaders to name a few. Tomasa’s most important legacy is the Love of Jesus Christ that she passed to all.
The visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Clements- Wilcox Funeral Home from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. with the Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 10 A.M. at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with interment following at Post Mountain Cemetery.
The Castillo Family will host family and friends at the Parish Hall located at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church following the interment.
