
Tony was raised in Burnet where he lived until age 16. He moved to Austin where he began working at Austin Plumbing Supply. He later went to work on his own as a licensed master plumber and owned and operated his own business, Martinez Plumbing for approximately 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and smoking his Swisher Sweets. He enjoyed playing the lottery and high line games, and his trips to Las Vegas.
Tony is survived by his brothers Felix Martinez of Burnet and Saragosa “Joe” Martinez, both of Burnet and sister Victoria Tate of Austin and Frances Esquivel of Burnet. Tony is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and his many friends. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters Inez Martinez, Ray Martinez, Ernest Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Henry Martinez, and Florencia Bernal.
A Rosary Service was recited at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. A Funeral Mass was conducted at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Burnet at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 24th with Reverend Miguel Duarte officiating. Burial followed at Post Mountain Cemetery. Those named as pallbearers were Sam Bernal, Saragosa Inez Martinez, Robert Ulbricht, Frerddy Martinez, Bobby Martinez, and Lorenzo Martinez.
