Cade Pond

He was born August 7, 1956 in Colorado City, TX and grew up in Marfa, TX. He was preceded in death by his sister; Mitzi Leigh Pond, Brother; Monte Pond, Mother; Patsy Marlene Pond, Father; Henry Vale Pond Jr., and Grandparents; Earl and Annis Hammond and Mr. and Mrs. Henry V. Pond Sr. He is survived by his wife; LaDonna Kay Pond, son; Justin Ryan Pond, Daughter; Mitzi Marlene Solomon, Son in Law; Justin Kyle Solomon, Grandson; Jacek Kade Solomon, Brother in Law; Allen Posey and Wife; Rhonda Posey and family, Brother in Law; Kevin Posey, and Wife; LeeAnn Posey and family, Father in Law; Bob Posey, Mother in Law; Elizabeth Posey, Cousins; Gary and Randy Patterson and families, and many dear friends he loved.

Cade grew up living the life of a “Small town simple man” in Marfa working his family ranch and starting his own tab at the Marfa General Store at the age of 3. Cade met the love of his life in the neighboring town of Alpine. He and LaDonna shared 33 years of marriage, a marriage to be modeled after. He was an amazing and loving father to his two children, teaching them the meaning of hard work and molding them into strong willed adults. Cade would give the shirt off his back to a friend in need and would never ask for anything in return. His loving and generous nature was passed on to those he knew and loved. There are no words to describe the bond between him and his grandson. Jacek brought a new meaning to life and an indescribable love in his heart.

Services were held at Main St. Baptist Church on Saturday, August 3rd at 11 am. Service Arrangements were handled by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. The Family would like to send a special thanks to those who have sent their love and condolences to the family during this time. Any donations can be made in Cade’s name to the Main St Baptist Church in Burnet and Scott and White Hospice in Llano.
