Connie was born on May 16, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa to Earl and Velma VanLaningham.
She moved to Burnet in the 1990s where she met her husband, Edmond Wise.
Connie had a servant’s heart and was a caregiver to several people in the Burnet County area. She was a petite, small person full of life, spunk, and sass. She loved to walk and would walk several miles daily, visiting friends, businesses, and her favorite spot, the library.
Connie joined Venture Church in Burnet, Texas, in 2009, and was a faithful member until her passing. She loved her church family immensely, especially all the little children, who she referred to as, ‘’My Wild Indians.” Volunteering every year in VBS and other activities, Connie was always the favorite.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Edmond “Ed” Wise; her son, Christopher Carlson; her parents, Earl and Velma (Powell) VanLaningham, and her granddaughter, Tiara. Also preceding her in death are brothers Darrell, Dale, and Eugene, and her sister, Cleo.
Connie is survived by her children; Chad, Linda, and Tracie, as well as her beloved sister, Shirley, her brothers, Randy and Donald and their respective families, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all her “Wild Indians.”
Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 5-7 PM, at Clements-Wilcox. Service will be Friday, October 21, at 2 PM at Venture Church, 624 County Road 250 Burnet, Texas 78611, with Senior Pastor James East officiating. Graveside will be immediately following at Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet, Texas.
Pallbearers: Daniel Benitz, Robbie Clark, Jacob East, Doug Fowler, Garlan Hunter, and Chuck Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers: Breydon East II and Trasyn Valdez.
