On July 21, 2026, Deric’s earthly life came to an end, but his spirit lives on in the people he loved, the land he cared for, and the faith he carried.

Deric was an unconventional man with a deep and abiding faith in God. He lived boldly, walked in the Spirit, and carried the heart of a lion—brave, courageous, and naturally able to make people laugh and smile.

He had an infectious smile, a magnetic personality that drew people in, and a laugh you could never forget. His energy and love of life were contagious, lifting the spirits of everyone around him. No matter where he went, he made new friends. His hat and cowboy boots were part of his unmistakable style whenever he went out. He had a big heart and lived from it, showing up for people in thoughtful, personal ways and giving his time, energy, and love freely.

He shared a beautiful life in the Texas Hill Country with his wife and best friend, Eleanor, on their ranch in Burnet. Deric had a vision for the land and poured his heart into bringing it to life—tending to the chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, rabbits, and fish, and cultivating the many trees, flowers, and crepe myrtles planted over the years. Through his care and hard work, he created a home filled with life, beauty, and the wonder of God’s creation.

One of the most meaningful places on the ranch is the prayer circle, surrounded by roses and other flowers, with a large white-blooming crepe myrtle standing at its center—a living reflection of Deric’s faith and his love for God’s creation.

Deric is survived by his wife, Eleanor Williams; his mother, Renée; his sisters, Crystal and Brittney; his brothers, Eric Jr. and Dante; and many family members and friends who loved him deeply.

A Gathering of Faith and Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 East Polk Street in Burnet, Texas.

Guests are invited to dress casually, wear something blue in Deric’s honor, and come ready to share stories and memories of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something in Deric’s memory—a seed, a flower, a crepe myrtle, a tree, or anything that will grow and bring beauty into the world.
