Effie Louise Isbell, 84, of Florence, Texas, passed away June 24, 2022, at her home. She was born January 12, 1938, as the eldest daughter of Levi and Dessie (Buckelew) Fry in Burnet, Texas. Louise married Gayland Brook Isbell of Florence on August 28, 1959. Together they raised two children, Pam, and Eddie.
Louise grew up in a large family with ten siblings where she developed her love for fishing. Family was always the most important thing in her life. After marrying Brook, she loved watching her family grow immensely. Her house was always full of love, laughter, and food for everyone. Hours were spent around her kitchen table eating, playing dominoes, cards, and Wahoo. She enjoyed sewing, upholstering, fishing, cooking, antiquing, and garage sales. Above all, being Mom and Mamaw were her favorite things. She spent much of her time with her six grandchildren, supporting their school events, sports, and livestock shows.
She is survived by her children: Pam (Dee) Leatherwood and Eddie Isbell; grandchildren: Jake Isbell, Ashley (Chuck) Edwards, Cory (Katy) Keith, Hunter Isbell, Reagan Isbell, and Tate (Kirsten) Leatherwood; and great-grandchildren: Ava Isbell, Rex Isbell, Lyla Isbell, Kellan Leatherwood, Maxwell Keith, and Kaden Leatherwood. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and husband.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim Roberts for her care and compassion to Louise. Kim selflessly dedicated all her time, day, or night, to Louise over the past six weeks. The family would also like to thank New Century Hospice for their care and support during this time.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June, 29, 2022, at 9:00 am at First Baptist Church in Florence, Texas followed by Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Burial will be at the Florence City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
