

Elgin Murray Killebrew, 86 was taken by our Lord and Savior on December 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Clara Killebrew, his brother Buster Killebrew, and his wife of 63 years Alien Killebrew. He is survived by his son Raymond Gene Killebrew and wife Alice, grandsons Raymond V Killebrew and wife Tracy, and Michael Thompson. His great grandchildren are Jordan, Karrissa, and Sydney Killebrew and Tristen, Landree, and Madison Thompson. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.
Elgin was born June 29, 1927, in Cedar Valley, Travis County, Texas. Once old enough, he enlisted in the Army and served during World War II. After his return from the Army, he met and married Aline where they started a long life together. Elgin was in in the Real-estate business for almost 50 years before he retired. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and all around outdoorsman all of his life. Elgin was a Master Mason and Shriner, serving many years helping people while serving as a Mason. He and Aline spent time traveling and with family and friends.
Elgin will be remembered as a kind, loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most will remember him as a wonderful person with a big heart and a smile. Elgin will be missed by all who knew him but not forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Bluffton Cemetery with Minister Tim Denton officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Killebrew, Ben Watson, John Watson, Chase Watson, Doug Overstreet, Todd Overstreet, Todd Mauldin, and Raymond Killebrew.
