

Ernest Franklin Dunn, 96, of Burnet, Texas, went home on December 27, 2010. Ernest was born December 12, 1914 in Poteet, Texas to George Washington Dunn and Susie Rebeccah Dunn. Ernest began his career at the Driskill Hotel in Austin. He then worked for Slaughters Meat Market for around 40 years and ended his career as a butcher at Regis Meat Market in Marble Falls. Although he did not serve in the military, he worked in the ship yards in Houston.
He loved fishing and hunting and shared this gift with family and friends. He was raised a Master Mason at Austin Lodge # 12 on December 16, 1972 and was also a longtime member of Norton Moses Lodge # 336 in Leander.
Ernest was preceded in death by parents George and Susie Dunn, his wife of 70 years, Lillie Ann Bird Dunn, son ElRoy Dunn and an infant son. Ernest is survived by a daughter-in-law Dorothy Dunn of Cedar Park, grandson Clayton Dunn and wife Brenda of Leander, granddaughter Belinda Malin and her husband Ken of Cedar Park, great-grandsons Cody Dunn and wife Lexi, Kyle, and Ross, great-granddaughters Courtney, Harley, Katey and Denver and one great-great-grandson Levi. Ernest is also survived by nephew and best friend George Bird, numerous other nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation was on Tuesday at 6:00 pm and services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday December 29th at Clements Wilcox on Hwy 29 in Burnet, Texas with Barry Drake officiating. A Masonic Burial Ceremony and interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bertram, Texas. For those desiring, an online guest register is available at www.clementswilcoxburnet.com.
