Frances Reed

Frances M. Reed, age 87, of Bertram, Texas passed away at the Bertram Nursing Home, where she had resided for several years, August 23, 2012. She was born on October 11, 1924 in the Joppa Community. She was the daughter of Henry Jay and Annie Belle Snow. They moved to Oatmeal Community in 1929 and she resided there most of the rest of her life.

Frances was active in 4-H Clubs Home demonstration Clubs, Burnet County Fair and Rodeo, and Burnet Co. 4-H and FFA Livestock Show.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Dorman Reed, her parents, her siblings, Bessie Selma, Mary, Henry and Reese and granddaughter Sarah Smith. She is survived by her children Carolyn and Bill Smith, Lynda and Fred French and Ronny and Nancy Reed. Survivors include 7 grandchildren and 5 great grand children.

Visitation will be Saturday August 25, 2012, 3-5 pm. At Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Oatmeal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bertram Library, Oatmeal Community Center.
