June 20, 1940 – November 18, 2019
Freddie W. Kinnison, age 79, formerly of Levelland passed from this life on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home on the land he loved near Kempner, Texas. Freddie was born June 20, 1940 to Raymond and Lucille (Jackson) Kinnison in Lamesa, Texas. He was third of seven children (Ray, Melvin, Donnie, Barbara, Jean, and Jane). Growing up, Freddie enjoyed playing sports and hunting with his favorite dog Bozo. The family moved from Lamesa to Seagraves in 1950 where he graduated from high school in 1958. After graduation, he obtained an Associates degree from South Plains College in 1961. It was there that he met his future wife of 57 years, Sharian Sims. Freddie was very driven and always worked hard to provide for his family. Before he was married, he worked for a carbon black plant in Seagraves. In 1962, he worked for New Mexico Electric in Hobbs as a lineman. After moving back to Levelland, he worked for Pan American/Amoco/BP for 29 years where he worked his way up to Senior Automation Field Foreman. He was also a master electrician. After retiring his first time, he worked at Reese Airforce Base where he was employee of the quarter, taught a petroleum class at SPC, was an inspector for Lufkin, consulted for MBF, and he loved his electrical job on Fort Hood. But perhaps his favorite job was the seven months he spent as an electrician in Yellowstone National Park. He loved hunting and fishing, a good campfire, genealogy, good friends (especially lifelong friend Charlie Welch), his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved his land. He taught us to work hard, treat everyone fairly, and be honest. Ideals, which he lived by. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lucille (Jackson) Kinnison. He is survived by his wife, Sharian of Kempner, his daughter, Karen (Scooter) Johnson of Levelland, and son, David Kinnison of Kempner; four grandchildren, Mandy, Jon, Sara Kinnison and Katrina Johnson; and three great grandchildren, Alayna, Rylee, and Matthew Kinnison, who were his pride and joy. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations be given to the Wounded Warrior Project. A celebration of life will be held at the Cactus Drive Church of Christ in Levelland, Texas on December 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

Hi family. One of the things I liked about Freddie is he was one of the most honest and genuine men I have known. Simmie loved him as one of her own, and that speaks volumes about the man. Sharian, thanks for bringing him into our family
. Love you all, Mike
